Connecting these activities to Educational Standards

"Science, engineering, and technology permeate nearly every facet of modern life, and they also hold the key to meeting many of humanity’s most pressing current and future challenges. Yet too few U.S. workers have strong backgrounds in these fields, and many people lack even fundamental knowledge of them." - A Framework for K-12 Science Education: Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, and Core Ideas (2012)

The AIAA RMS STEM committee is creating engaging activities that you can use in your classroom or share with your students and families in informal learning environments.  Each activity incorporates multiple modes of learning to help with a wider range of learners who may or may-not feel they are interested in or capable of understanding science and engineering concepts.  We want all students to have, at the very least, an appreciation for these endeavors.  We hope to do our small part of encouraging young minds to remain open to career possibilities in these challenging fields.  To that end, the context for the activities is aerospace - rockets, airplanes, spacecraft, and related technologies.  Students can see how science and engineering pertain to real-world problems and explore opportunities to apply their scientific knowledge to engineering design problems.

This will be a paragraph to discuss how we describe the alignment of activities with NGSS standards and Colorado Academic Standards.
